Caring for your travertine pool coping is simple, but vital for protecting your pool area. Just follow these basic rules:

1. Seal the stone every 1 to 2 years

Because pool coping is constantly exposed to water and chemicals, sealing is the single most important step. It keeps stains out and prevents pool salt from soaking into the stone.

• The water test: Splash a little pool water onto a dry area of the coping. If the water beads up on top, your sealer is active. If it darkens and soaks right into the stone, it is time for a new coat.
