Curated Stones for Australian Living Spaces

Travertine French Pattern

Premium Travertine French Pattern for Elegant Outdoor and Indoor Spaces

If you want to break away from the look of standard square tiles, the Travertine French Pattern is the perfect choice. This classic format brings a relaxed, high-end European feel to any home.

Instead of laying down rows of identical rectangles or squares, the French Pattern uses a clever mix of sizes laid out together. It gives your floors a custom, handcrafted look that instantly boosts the value and beauty of your property.

What is a Travertine French Pattern?

The French Pattern (sometimes called the Versailles Pattern) is a specific layout kit. It is not a different kind of stone—it is a smart way of cutting and arranging our premium 100% natural travertine.

Each pattern set comes with6 individual pieces of travertine that fit together like a puzzle. Even though the pieces are different sizes, they are made from the exact same block of stone, so the colors and textures match beautifully.

The 6-Piece Set Includes:

  • Two large squares
  • One large rectangle
  • Two small squares
  • One small rectangle

Why choose the French Pattern layout?

  • It hides lines and looks natural: Standard tiles create long, straight grid lines across a floor. The French Pattern breaks up these rigid lines. This makes your patio, pool deck, or living room look more organic, spacious, and relaxed.
  • Perfect for popular Australian styles: This modular style is a massive favorite for coastal homes, modern Hamptons-style builds, and traditional Mediterranean backyards.
  • Available for indoors and outdoors: We supply this beautiful pattern in two different thicknesses to suit your entire home:
  • 12mm Tiles: Smooth and filled flat surface, perfect for seamless indoor flooring.
  • 30mm Pavers: Textured, non-slip unfilled blocks built for outdoor backyards and pool surrounds.

Choose your color

Because travertine is a natural stone formed near hot springs over thousands of years, every 6-piece kit has gorgeous, one-of-a-kind variations. We offer this layout in our four signature colors:

  • Ivory: A bright, creamy white that reflects the sun beautifully and makes outdoor entertaining areas feel massive and airy.
  • Beige: A warm, sandy tone that channels classic European luxury. It is highly practical because it easily hides outdoor dust and dirt.
  • Silver-Grey: A contemporary mix of cool ash and pewter tones. It looks incredibly striking next to green lawns, blue pool water, and glass fencing.
  • Noche: A deep, dramatic chocolate brown. Perfect for creating a bold architectural statement or a cozy, old-world courtyard.

Where to install the French Pattern

Around the pool and patios

Using the French Pattern around your pool deck creates a luxury resort vibe. When you choose our 30mm thick outdoor pavers, the textured surface keeps the ground safe, non-slip, and amazingly cool under bare feet—even on 40°C summer days.

Living rooms and kitchens

Bringing the French Pattern inside adds immense character to your home. It makes open-plan living areas look grand and high-end. The indoor kits are factory-filled and smooth, making them incredibly soft to walk on and very easy to mop.

Pathways and courtyards

Move away from boring concrete paths. A French Pattern walkway adds a touch of historical charm to your garden beds and easily handles all kinds of Australian weather without fading or losing its grip.

How to clean and look after it

Caring for a Travertine French Pattern floor is exactly the same as looking after standard tiles or pavers. It is simple if you follow these basic rules:

  1. Seal the stone every 1 to 2 years

Because travertine is a natural, porous stone, it needs to be sealed to stay protected from stains, BBQ grease, and pool salt.

  • The water test: Drop a splash of water on the stone. If it beads up on top, your sealer is working. If it soaks in and darkens the stone, it is time for a new coat.
  1. Basic daily cleaning
  • Sweep regularly: Use a broom or leaf blower to clear away dirt and sand. Walking on trapped grit can scratch the stone over time.
  • Use mild soap: Only clean your floors with gentle, pH-neutral soaps made specifically for natural stone.
  • Clean spills fast: Things like red wine, coffee, and lemon juice can permanently dull or stain the stone. Blot the spill immediately with a paper towel—never wipe it, as wiping spreads the liquid.
  1. What to avoid
What to avoid Why you must avoid it
Vinegar, Lemon, & Bleach These are highly acidic. They will chemically burn the stone and leave permanent, ugly white dull spots.
Wire Brushes & Scratchy Pads These will scratch the beautiful surface and ruin the finish of the stone.
Generic Glossy Sealers Standard wet-look sealers trap moisture inside the stone, which can cause the stone to turn cloudy and rot over time.
High-Pressure Washers Extreme water pressure can blast open the natural holes in the stone, making it much harder to keep clean in the future.
